Macro Bug on my Car

I’m a photographer, not a scientist – so I rarely know what I’m shooting, but if it’s cool, I want to shoot it. This little fella was pretty cool – so I shot it. Probably a mosquito. Hate them… but they photograph well.

I took the shot with my trusty Canon 100 2.8IS lens – which is one of the sharpest lenses I’ve ever owned. The problem was that it was getting dark, and I didn’t bring my macro flash (24EX), so I did my best – raised the ISO (to 3200) and dropped the shutter speed down, but still got the shot mostly sharp.

Add some noise reduction and voila.
